Mediation Services

We provide mediation services in New York and Florida

  • Mediation offers a confidential and solution-oriented alternative to traditional divorce litigation; it provides a non-adversarial approach in an informal setting. Choosing mediation can significantly reduce the costs associated with divorce, while also ensuring the privacy of personal details. Our legal mediation services empower couples to have more control over their divorce settlement. In mediation, divorcing spouses meet with a neutral mediator, often an experienced divorce lawyer acting impartially, for sessions typically lasting 90 minutes to two hours. The mediator facilitates constructive dialogue to help the couple identify and resolve their individual concerns, ultimately aiming for a fair and mutually agreeable settlement.

Although divorce invariably presents challenges, pursuing a mediated divorce offers several notable advantages, including the potential to improve communication among you, your spouse, and your children, a typically lower overall cost compared to court proceedings, the empowerment of you and your spouse to collaboratively shape your futures in a more comfortable setting, a generally shorter timeframe for resolution than litigation, and the assurance of a non-competitive and confidential process.

Throughout this process, parties are encouraged to seek guidance from their own consulting attorneys.

  • If you retain us as a Mediator we will act as a neutral facilitator that helps you understand your choices and identify key issues without taking sides. We will guide you in developing creative solutions that work for your family, fostering productive dialogue with your partner to achieve the best possible result for everyone. Choosing mediation means avoiding the high costs of court and maintaining complete control over the resolution.

As your mediator, you should expect us to:

    • Offer a clear path forward and support you through the process.

    • Impartially explain relevant legal principles for your situation.

    • Share insights from similar cases to inspire solutions.

    • Create a legally binding agreement based on your decisions.

  • If you are going through mediation, we can advise you during the process as your attorney. As  mediation-trained consulting attorneys, we can provide legal counsel and answer your questions throughout the mediation process, advise you on developing a comprehensive parenting plan, draft or review your separation agreement for your divorce, file your necessary court papers, or represent you during your uncontested divorce. Furthermore, acting as  mediation-friendly review attorneys, we will carefully review your agreement prior to filing to ensure that no important issues have been missed.
