My Professional Life
My name is Elena Tisnovsky. I focus my practice exclusively on the areas of divorce and family law, and provide assistance in cases, involving division of marital assets and debts, child support, spousal maintenance, custody and visitation proceedings. I have extensive experience negotiating and drafting prenuptial, post-nuptial, separation, and settlement agreements, both in litigated and mediated cases.
I keep myself informed of changes and new developments in the area of family law and regularly attend professional meetings, continuing legal education programs, and seminars.
Prior to focusing exclusively on family and divorce law, I practiced commercial litigation and immigration law.
I believe in helping people in need. In partnerships with public interest organizations, I provide pro bono representation and counseling to low-income litigants. I also volunteer with the Monday Night Law Program, a community service offered by The New York City Bar Association, providing free consultations in the areas of consumer law, matrimonial and family law, bankruptcy, landlord tenant law, and small business matters.
